Privacy Policy
onecue.ai respects your privacy and is committed to complying with applicable data protection laws, including the Korea Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, and how we use and handle it, in connection with our Image Translator and Image to Text services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information to provide the Service.
(1) Information you provide when creating an account
- Social login: basic profile information (name, email address, etc.) that Google makes available to us through its authorization flow
(2) Content you upload while using the Service
- Image files you upload for translation or text extraction, and the resulting extracted text
(3) Information collected automatically
- IP address, device and browser information (OS, browser type and settings), access date and time, cookies, and usage records (pages visited, clicks, etc.)
We do not intentionally collect sensitive information such as your beliefs, political opinions, health, or sexual life. However, because the Service processes uploaded images automatically through OCR and translation technology, we are unable to identify, filter, or screen out sensitive information that an image may contain before such automatic processing occurs. Accordingly, if an uploaded image contains sensitive information, you acknowledge that it may be automatically processed (including via OCR and translation) as part of the Service, and by uploading the image you are deemed to have consented to such processing. Please exercise caution when uploading images that may contain sensitive information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect only for the following purposes:
- To provide the Image Translator and Image to Text services
- To identify members, maintain login sessions, and manage accounts
- To prevent misuse of the Service and enforce usage limits (e.g., free-tier limits)
- To respond to inquiries and provide customer support
- To diagnose service errors and improve quality
- To analyze statistics for service improvement and new feature development
- To comply with legal obligations
3. Retention and Use Period
We delete personal information without delay once the purpose of collection and use has been achieved, and retain it for the periods below.
| Category | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Account information (email, social profile, etc.) | Until account deletion |
| Uploaded image files | Automatically deleted immediately after processing is complete |
| Access logs, cookies, and other automatically collected data | 1 month |
| Free-tier usage counter (a one-way hash of your email plus a monthly count — no readable email) | Retained after account deletion, solely to enforce the monthly free-usage limit |
- Where retention is required by applicable law, we retain the information for the period specified by that law (e.g., access records under the Protection of Communications Secrets Act).
- We may retain certain information within the necessary scope to prevent misuse and to meet legal obligations (e.g., tax and accounting).
- To prevent abuse of the free monthly quota (for example, deleting and recreating an account to reset the limit), we keep a one-way cryptographic hash derived from your email together with that month's usage count even after you delete your account. This record contains no readable email or other personal information and is used only to enforce the free-usage limit; it resets at the start of each calendar month.
4. Destruction of Personal Information
- Procedure: Personal information whose retention period has expired or whose processing purpose has been achieved is destroyed in accordance with our internal policy and applicable law.
- Method: Electronic files are permanently deleted using a method that makes recovery impossible; paper documents are shredded or incinerated.
- Uploaded image files are automatically deleted after processing is complete and are not separately stored or retained.
5. Provision to Third Parties
We do not, in principle, provide your personal information to external parties, except in the following cases:
- Where you have given prior consent
- Where required by law, or where a law enforcement agency requests it in accordance with the procedures and methods set out in applicable law for investigative purposes
6. Outsourcing of Processing
